【Japanese Recipe Video】Char-siu pork

Ingredients <for 3~4 person>

  • 1 pound of pork belly
  • A little of salt

<Sauce>

  • 5 ounce of soy sauce
  • 5 ounce of cooking sake
  • 5 ounce of sugar
  • 3 ounce of mirin
  • 3 ounce of water
  • 1 white leek
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 ounce of ginger

※The white leek and garlic and gingers are for removing the pork smell

<Char siu topping>

  • white leek
  • a little sesame oil
  • a little salt

 

Recipe

<Char siu topping>

  1. Cut white leek to be thin
  2. Cook with sesame oil and sugar

<Char siu>

  1. Put salt over a pork belly
  2. Grill just the surface of  the pork belly
  3. Cut white leek, garlic and ginger
  4. Add soy sauce, cooking sake, sugar, mirin, water, white leek, garlic and ginger into a pan and heat it
  5. Put the pork belly into the pan
  6. Put a foil on the pan
  7. Cook it for 20 mins
  8. Turn over the pork belly
  9. Cook it  for 20 mins again
  10. Wait until char siu becomes room temperature
  11. Cut it
  12. Put char siu on the plate
  13. Put topping on the char siu

*The reason for adding white leek, garlic and ginger into the pan with the mixed sauce is to remove the smell of the pork.
